Old Village Fire Company incurs about $80,000 a year in expenses such as firefighting tools, turnout gear, engine repairs and firehouse maintenance.  Unfortunately, the State limits the amount of funding we can receive from the municipality.  We receive $30,000 annually from the Township of Middletown, leaving $50,000 that we must raise each  year through donations. 

As technology advances in personal protective equipment, so do the costs. On the average it costs approximately $2,500.00 to outfit one firefighter. Each firefighter must be issued all of the following at a minimum.

These prices coupled with the cost of apparatus and equipment maintenance, emphasizes the need for fund raising through charitable donations from the community.
